Jewellery Hallmarks
Assay and Hallmarking are your guarantee that your bespoke piece of jewellery has been made from a good quality metal.
Jewellery hallmarks are made up of 3 compulsory stamps, they are usually very small so you may find it difficult to see without using a magnifying lens.
Sponsors Mark
In the UK this is made up of 2 letters within a shield and is a unique mark. The Rubinstein Keightley pieces will always have the symbol below to show they were made by us.

Metal & Fineness (purity) Mark
This jewellery hallmark is made up of 2 parts, a number which states the fineness (in parts per thousand) and the surrounding shield shows the metal used.

In the UK we have 4 Assay offices (Birmingham, Edinburgh, London and Sheffield) that can hallmark jewellery. If you look at the jewellery hallmarks on a piece of jewellery you may be able to see one of the following on it.

This will tell you where it was hallmarked not where it was made. Rubinstein Keightley pieces carry the Edinburgh or Birmingham Assay office stamp where our marks are registered.
In addition to these 3 jewellery hallmarks you may also see a date letter which shows the year the piece was hallmarked.

Some pieces may be excluded from hallmarking for example if a piece is under 1gm of Gold, 7.78gm of Silver or 0.5gm of Platinum, be sure to check with the retailer if you are unsure.
